Traveling by the air plane for the first time

Traveling by air plane for the first time alone, one could feel apprehensive. So did I. I had this mild fear of unknown. But really anyone needs to know and do is 3 things, and one would be fine -
I don't know why I clicked trollies outside airport :/
  1. Reach airport 1.5 hour before scheduled departure for domestic flight and 2 hours for international flight.
  2. Carry your E-ticket (containing flight details such as PNR) and some photo-ID card (like passport, voter card etc.)
  3. Know baggage limit of your flight, and measure your baggage accordingly.

That's all you need to do before arriving. The check-in and boarding procedure is simpler than you can think :)
Really a three step process-
  1. After entering airport, get in queue of your carrier's check in counters. When your turn comes, present your E-ticket and ID card. Keep your suitcases that you want checked in (separate from hand baggage) on conveyer belt. Usually the limit on check-in baggage is 15-20 Kg for economy ticket. Above that you need to pay on per kilo basis. Now you will be handed your boarding pass, which mentions the boarding gate and your seat number. Since you are flying for the first time, you might want to request for window seat! And don't forget to pickup tags
  2. Its time for security check and now you should be having only hand baggage with you. Again get in queue. When you have to send the hand-baggage through X-Ray scanner, you need to takeout laptop and mobile and keep them separately in a tray. Once done with the security check, your tags and your boarding pass should be bearing a stamp by security personnel.
  3. Now head over to the gate number mentioned on your boarding-pass and wait for gates to open. Yes that all to it. In some time you would be seated inside air-plane!
Now simply enjoy your first flight! Don't listen to those who say that take-off is scary, its nothing like that. Just a little bit exhilarating. But I have only flown during clear weather so far, so its quite possible that I have not experienced the bumpy ride.

Wasn't it easy? On your second flight, you will notice you have become a pro at flying!
The view from window seat!
